JT15D Hot Section

A hot section inspection is performed to ensure the integrity of the engine to reach full overhaul. A 5 point run is performed before disassembly. The hot section is removed with the engine still on the wing. The Fan Blades are inspected for FOD, the Impeller is inspected also for FOD. The main Oil filter is removed and inspected for metal chips or any debris. Once the engine is disassembled, the High Turbine disk and blades are visually and dimensionally inspected. The Small Duct assembly is disassembled to inspect the High Turbine Stator as well as the Small Duct. The Large Duct is inspected as well as the Combustion Liner. The Fuel Nozzles are Pressure checked and Spray checked. The #4 Bearing Housing is inspected as well as all components removed.
